Role Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated Desktop Support Specialist to join our team at Iron Systems. The ideal candidate will possess excellent technical skills and a strong customer focus, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-site and desk-side support services to end-users, ensuring timely resolution of technical issues.
  • Troubleshoot PC-related problems at the direction of senior technical staff.
  • Complete incidents and requests within specified SLAs in a pressurized environment.
  • Build, configure, and troubleshoot desktop and laptop hardware, including installation of Gold image and software applications.
  • Ensure tickets are updated on a daily basis, maintaining accurate records of technical support activities.
  • Support meeting room environment and video conferencing, as well as printers, scanners, and other peripherals.
  • Support mobile devices, including iPads, iPhones, and Android devices, and perform data backup and restoration tasks as required.
  • Offer smart hands support for data center equipment, adhering to specified SLAs and guidelines.
  • Assist in troubleshooting data center devices, replacing defective components and performing daily tape changes as advised by senior technical staff.
  • Import and export tapes to tape libraries, following established procedures and protocols.

Technical Skills & Experience:

  • Experience with a call-logging system and good working knowledge of Windows 7/10 and related Office applications.
  • Supporting experience of MACs would be beneficial.
  • Knowledge of mobile devices, particularly Androids and iPhones.
  • Working knowledge of current and legacy hardware platforms, including building, configuring, replacing, and troubleshooting PC and laptop hardware components.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft SCCM and ability to replace defective parts as identified by senior technical staff.
  • Excellent hands-on experience in installation and troubleshooting data center equipment, rack, and stack of DC equipment/cables.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and local languages.

Desired Educational Requirements:

  • Completion of CompTIA certifications, such as A+ or Network+.
  • Completion (or near completion) of Microsoft certifications, such as MCP, MCITP, or MCSE.
