Objective

The Accounts Payable Analyst plays a crucial role in the success of the Accounts Payable function within the Finance Services Unit in Mexico. This position is responsible for ensuring that individual objectives, plans, and initiatives align with the team's strategic goals. The analyst must ensure that all operations comply with relevant regulations, internal policies, and procedures. Responsibilities include the timely and precise processing of expense account statements and invoices, as well as the correct allocation of expenses. The analyst will also analyze accounts payable invoices, produce reports, and verify compliance with regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote a customer-centric culture to enhance client relationships and utilize broader Bank resources, systems, and expertise.

Accounts Payable / Payment Operations:

  • Ensure all invoices, expenses, and related documents are organized, dated, and distributed promptly and according to established protocols.
  • Examine incoming invoices and expenses to confirm they meet all processing requirements.
  • Execute necessary processing tasks for compliant invoices and expenses within the PeopleSoft system.
  • Generate accurate and timely payments in PeopleSoft for all submitted and compliant invoices and expenses.
  • Process any void payments as needed.

Process Enhancements:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and escalate these to the Supervisor.

Financial Systems:

  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of source financial systems.
  • Recognize how the Bank's risk appetite and culture should inform daily activities and decisions.
  • Actively seek effective and efficient operations within respective areas, adhering to Scotiabank's Values, Code of Conduct, and Global Sales Principles, while ensuring robust business controls to meet operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk obligations.
  • Foster a high-performance environment and contribute to an inclusive workplace.

Qualifications / Experience / Additional Information

  • Experience in a high-volume accounts payable or payment operations environment.
  • Strong collaborative skills and a team-oriented mindset.
  • Proficient analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Educational background in finance or related fields.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
