Cash Handling and Customer Experience

As a Cash Handling Specialist at Marriott International, you will be responsible for processing all payment methods according to accounting procedures and policies. You will maintain high standards of auditing control for the hotel and follow procedures for handling cash (e.g., cash handling at random). You will receive assigned cash and ensure the accuracy of the money received, obtaining the necessary change for the expected level of transactions and securing the cash at all times. You will calculate the cash at the end of your shift, complete the cashier's designated reports, resolve any discrepancies, deliver receipts, and secure the cash. You will transport the cash to and from the designated work terminal. You will install and organize the cashier's work terminal with supplies, forms, and designated resource materials; maintain the cleanliness of the work terminal at all times. You will complete opening tasks, such as organizing supplies and necessary instruments, including cash, and ensuring everything is in perfect working order.

Accountability and Security

You will comply with all company policies and procedures for security and protection, and report accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions to management. You will ensure that your uniform and personal appearance are neat and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets. You will greet and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate their service needs, and attend to them, and express gratitude to guests with genuine appreciation. You will communicate with others using clear and professional language and answer phones using the appropriate protocol. You will cultivate and maintain positive working relationships with others and support the team to achieve common goals. You will ensure compliance with expectations and quality standards. You will enter and locate work-related information using computers and/or point-of-sale systems. You will stand, sit, or walk for an extended period. You will move, lift, transport, push, pull, and place without assistance objects weighing 10 pounds or less. You will perform other reasonable work duties requested by supervisors.
