About the role

As a Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting all product and technical integration related aspects of our PayU sales process with Global Merchants. This includes detailing product features, answering questions and acting as the technical point of contact throughout the sales process.

What you will do

In-depth knowledge of PayU products and features to provide subject matter expertise for merchant integrations regionally, as well as for the global PayU Hub.  Maintain accurate and current PayU products and features knowledge for PayU .  Understand market trends and regulatory changesthat may affect the merchant integrations.  Review the technical aspects, related to the integration process, with the help of the specialized areas involved.  Provide technical guidance during the entire integration process recommending the best practices of the industry and the product/services that fit the better to the merchant’s demands and the best way to approach the PayU product/services.  Help clients to solve problems with product usage.  Understand the PayU integration and sales cycle end to end and step in when any technical topic is raised.  Provide proposal support to the sales team specifically for product, technical and/or functional sections  Participate as a technical / integration expert on sales conference calls, prospect visits, at trade shows, conferences, and customer workshops.  Create and support demos, technical sales discussions, and technical testing.  Ensure successful on-site and/or remote integrations which includes awareness of platform scaling requirements.  Ensure successful on-site and/or remote integrations which includes awareness of platform scaling requirements.  Elaborate customized technical documentation.  Give feedback on any correction or improvement that the customer must do on its integration.  Provide expert assessment and consultation for interested prospects on PayU’s technological capabilities, product features and benefits.  Provide feedback loop and opportunity for internal improvements.  Do merchant hand-off to the corresponding stakeholders. 

What you need to succeed

Degree in computer science or relevant technical degree.   3+ yearsofexperience workingin roles like Sales Engineer, Integration Engineer, Integration Analyst or Technical Support Engineer.  Proficient in written and verbal English .  Highly familiar with API based integration methods as REST and SOAP.  General understanding and ability to create queries with non-relational and Relational Databases ( SQL ).  Proficient in debugging internal logs and understanding communication between services to resolve merchant issue.  Basic concepts of UML (Unified Modelling Language), more specifically, diagrams creation (flow diagrams, sequence diagrams etc).  Desirable general knowledge of programming languages (Java, Javascript, HTML, CSS, etc) and up to speed on latest SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) practices.  Ability to lead and shape client expectations in customer-centric selling environment to help drive revenue.  Confident in communicating with C-level executives.  Excellent communication skills (interpersonal, verbal, written, email, etc.).
