Technical Support Specialist for IT Infrastructure

We are seeking an experienced IT Desktop Support Specialist to join our team at Peter Cremer North America, LP. As a key member of our IT department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our organization's IT infrastructure.
About the Role- This is a full-time position requiring approximately 25% travel to other Cremer locations in LATAM.
- Provide technical support for employees in the LATAM region, resolving hardware and software issues promptly and efficiently.
- Maintain and monitor network infrastructure, servers, and systems to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability.
- Create and manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights, as well as assist with onboarding and offboarding processes.
- Install, configure, and update software applications across the organization, implementing security measures and performing regular system audits to ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation of IT processes, procedures, and system configurations, coordinating with external vendors for hardware and software procurement, maintenance, and support as needed.
- Work closely with Cremer North America (CNA) along with cross-functional teams to address IT-related challenges and improve overall efficiency, providing helpdesk support efforts to resolve desktop application, workstation, and related equipment problems in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with local IT teams in Latin America and North America to ensure consistent service delivery, providing regional support and expertise.
- Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of servers, virtualization environment, routers, switches, firewalls, printers, phones, security updates, support internet, intranet, LANs, WANs, and network segments.
- Perform server/cloud administration tasks, including user/group administration, security permissions, group policies, print services, research event log warnings and errors, and resource monitoring.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues.
- Maintain accurate records of configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Perform and manage regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures.
- Conduct regular security audits and assessments, enforcing security policies and ensuring compliance.
- Implement and support network security policies, application security, access control, and corporate data safeguards to defend against unauthorized access, modifications, and destruction.
- Configure and support security tools such as firewalls, Meraki networking, anti-virus/EDR software, Mimecast, VMWare, Umbrella, MFA, and patch management systems.
- Partner with IT staff, managers, and executives about best practices and provide technical advice and training.
We offer a competitive salary range of $65,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
