Job Summary:

This experienced claims professional will play a key role in managing a portfolio of insurance claims and direct program business in Latin America. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in insurance claim handling, with a focus on property and casualty lines of business.

The successful candidate will have a high level of technical claims handling ability, with experience in managing complex claims and supervising a team of claims professionals. They will also have excellent analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to analyze data and identify trends.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage a portfolio of insurance claims, including evaluating, developing, and resolving complex and high-value claims.
  • Review claim loss bordereaux and communicate findings to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Approve financial transactions on claims within authority.
  • Conduct claim and due diligence audits and communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Analyze loss and expense trends on loss portfolios, emerging risks, and large losses, and collaborate on the development and implementation of plans to improve results.
  • Anticipate stakeholder needs and expectations and deliver superior customer service.
  • Contribute to the company's international community of claims expertise by sharing knowledge and experience on a global basis.
  • Participate in projects as required.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of combined insurance/reinsurance claim handling experience.
  • 1+ years of experience in supervising other team members, projects, and/or accounts/programs.
  • Expertise in managing and/or supervising a caseload of complex claims.
  • Ability to manage, organize, and analyze data.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Latin American insurance market.

Education:

  • University degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Post-graduate degree and/or industry certification/designation a plus.

Language Requirements:

  • English: Level 4: Can actively participate in meetings and group conversations. Can lead negotiations. Writes complex business letters and reports.
  • Spanish: Level 5: Can lead discussions and negotiations at the highest level. Writes complex reports. Rarely makes grammatical mistakes.
  • Portuguese: Level 3: Can take part in discussions on familiar subjects in meetings. Can write memos, simple letters, and reports.
