Unlike many media agencies that depend solely on third-party software for managing advertising campaigns, Amadeus has crafted its own acclaimed advertising platform, recognized by our clients for its ability to handle unique use cases and facilitate a more targeted approach. This platform is built on a microservices architecture, utilizing cutting-edge technologies such as Golang, Scala, Python, GraphQL, Apache Airflow, Redis, and PostgreSQL. It processes 200k transactions per second, leveraging a PB-size Google BigQuery hosted data warehouse, an innovative AI capable of executing up to 400k predictions per second, and is hosted on GCP (Google Cloud Platform) across four global regions.

Summary of the Role:

As part of Amadeus Media R&D, the QA team is responsible for comprehensive testing of newly released functionalities, ensuring no regression occurs while integrating new software, and collaborating closely with business partners and development teams.

The team operates across America and Europe to enhance collaboration and maintain proximity to various stakeholders.

As the manager of the QA team, you will play a pivotal role in this transformation by leading QA initiatives.

In this role, your responsibilities will include:

The primary responsibilities of the QA Team Manager encompass:

Engineering Leadership - Guide a team of highly skilled, experienced, and autonomous QA professionals, being accountable for their performance and outcomes. Ensure effective collaboration within a geographically diverse team across multiple time zones (America and Europe). Set performance objectives, conduct evaluations, and recommend compensation adjustments. Continuously assess and develop team capabilities, motivating individual members to enhance their skills (technical, behavioral, communication, etc.). Organize the team to cultivate a collaborative work environment that encourages innovation and empowerment.Functional Expertise - Acquire in-depth knowledge of the Media sector and engage in discussions (and sometimes challenge) functional and/or technical directions. Actively participate in solution design and proactively raise QA considerations. Define a vision for the team aligned with departmental strategy and translate it into actionable plans, working with a high degree of autonomy while receiving guidance from senior management.Project Management - Actively contribute to the development of quarterly timelines for the QA organization. Maintain an updated overview of team capacity relative to business needs. Oversee the execution of quarterly plans and adherence to budgetary constraints. Collaborate with various R&D team leads and business stakeholders. Promote Agile principles within the teams (operating in Scrum and Kanban). Report on team activities and develop strategies to address resource and operational challenges.QA Specialization - Ensure the application of QA best practices (full traceability, regression testing, automation, BDD, etc.). Collaborate with the team to design testing strategies and ensure follow-through. Propose alternatives, improvements, and new techniques in processes, workflows, operational models, and plans. Ensure consistency and uniformity in QA methodologies.

About the Ideal Candidate:

5+ years in a similar role.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills (English).Strong analytical thinking capabilities.Collaborative team player.Passionate about team management.Thorough understanding of best practices throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (requirements, development, quality assurance, release management).Experience with automated testing, including integration into CI/CD pipelines.Proficient in database management.Experienced in microservices testing.Knowledgeable in frontend testing.Familiar with industry trends such as Cloud, AI/ML, etc.
