Key Responsibilities

Role Summary:

The Logistics Representative II is responsible for preparing and overseeing client shipping orders both domestically and internationally. The primary responsibilities include:

  • Responding to inquiries via phone and email for the Core Logistics Department.
  • Creating new shipment orders for domestic and international routes.
  • Validating incoming orders from the customer portal to ensure accuracy in information and documentation.
  • Collaborating closely with customer service teams in the US and EU.
  • Utilizing operational tools to research import requirements.
  • Advising clients on regulatory requirements for international shipments.
  • Pre-advise destination offices for shipments needing special attention.
  • Providing standard quotes to clients.
  • Planning domestic routing while considering carrier specifications.
  • Routing shipments on the next available and direct flights.
  • Documenting clear instructions and customer expectations in job files.
  • Monitoring live shipments and communicating status updates to clients.
  • Managing system visibility reports.
  • Coordinating with other departments to enhance customer service.
  • Offering continuous support to clients and internal teams throughout the shipment process.
  • Monitoring shipments during transit and adapting to any changes in the plan.
  • Providing operational instructions for proper shipment handling.
  • Communicating with national and international stations and agents.
  • Adhering to a flexible work schedule, including potential overtime and weekend shifts.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant policies and regulations.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Shipment Types:

Handling various shipment types including drug/biological domestic shipments, exports, and imports, as well as packaging for shipments under 1000 lbs.

Qualifications

Experience and Education:

An associate or bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred, along with relevant experience in logistics or operations management.
