Role Overview:

The position entails the preparation and management of client shipping orders, both domestically and internationally. Key responsibilities include reviewing shipment specifications to ensure timely processing and maintaining proactive communication regarding updates.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Respond to inquiries via phone and email directed to the Core Logistics Department.
  • Initiate new shipment orders for domestic and international routes.
  • Verify new orders received through the customer portal for accuracy in information and documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with customer service teams in the US and EU.
  • Utilize operational tools to research import requirements.
  • Guide customers on regulatory import requirements for foreign countries, including customs procedures, duties, taxes, and necessary documentation.
  • Pre-advise destination offices for shipments needing special attention, such as import permits and large-size items.
  • Provide standard quotes to clients.
  • Plan domestic routing while considering carrier requirements.
  • Route domestic shipments on the next reliable and direct flights.
  • Document clear and precise notes of customer expectations in the job file.
  • Monitor live jobs and communicate status updates to clients.
  • Manage system visibility reports.
  • Coordinate with other World Courier offices/departments to enhance customer service.
  • Offer continuous support to clients and internal teams throughout the shipment process.
  • Monitor shipments during transit and respond flexibly to any deviations from the plan.
  • Provide clear instructions to operations for proper shipment handling.
  • Communicate with national and international stations and agents.
  • Maintain a flexible work schedule, including potential overtime and weekend shifts as necessary.
  • Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, safety rules, and regulations.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Shipment Types:

Domestic and international shipments of drugs/biologicals, packaging placements, and shipments under 1000 lbs. from human or mouse origin.

Qualifications:

Preferred qualifications include an associate or bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field, along with relevant experience in logistics or operations management.
