About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Solutions Associate to join our team at ScotiaTech. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in driving business success and delivering exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the overall success of our business lines and IT&S; by executing individual goals, plans, and initiatives in support of our business strategies and objectives.
  • Ensure all activities are conducted in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
  • Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  • Apply a business values-focused mindset to ensure the Technology team delivers the right product for stakeholders, with clearly defined user stories and a deep understanding of scope and expectations.
  • Assist the Scrum Master in managing agile delivery and adoption, including JIRA, Confluence, Kanban, and ServiceNow.
  • Support the establishment of necessary service procedures, policies, and standards in compliance with internal policies and documentation guidelines.
  • Apply innovative and problem-solving thinking to increase design effectiveness, procedures, and cost-effective solutions while meeting business and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify root causes of high-frequency problems and support actionable plans to improve development team performance through material changes to our products and services.
  • Manage business and software development metrics frameworks for software products, analyzing large datasets to create reports and presentations for leadership teams.
  • Utilize various software programs to formulate proper workflows and templates for the Bank and designated teams.
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be incorporated into day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursue effective and efficient operations in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, Code of Conduct, and Global Sales Principles, ensuring the adequacy, adherence to, and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk.
  • Champion a high-performance environment and contribute to an inclusive work environment.
Dimensions
  • Business units supported: RBBO, Adjudications, GBS, OCS, Global Compliance, Global Complaints, and IB Operations.
  • 1-2 Direct Reports
  • Global (Canada & IB)
Requirements
  • University or College degree in Business, Engineering, or Computer Science
  • Knowledge about software life cycle
  • General knowledge of project management
  • Strong analytic skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving
  • An agile mindset and the flexibility to adapt to new and evolving environments
  • Excellent written, verbal, virtual, and live communications skills (Spanish is considered an asset)
  • 2+ years of experience as a Business Analyst
  • 1+ year in a similar position
  • Experience with Atlassian Confluence and Jira
  • Methodologies are highly desirable, along with knowledge of IT Business Management
Working Conditions
  • Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence
