Regional Business Development Director

Job Summary: The Regional Business Development Director is responsible for driving business growth in Latin America through strategic partnerships, increasing commercial capabilities of distributors, and expanding the company's presence in the region.
- Main Accountabilities:
- Lead Strategic Planning: Develop a 3-year business plan with the leadership team and finance department to drive regional growth. Create short-term and mid-term business strategies aligned with corporate goals and objectives.
- P&L Management: Oversee the profit and loss of the affiliate, focusing on maximizing local performance by translating strategy into specific action plans.
- Customer Engagement: Dedicate quality time with customers, including traveling and discussing their needs, to understand the fit between customer requirements and the company's portfolio of solutions.
- Market Expertise: Stay up-to-date on market trends, economic conditions, and social-political environments in Latin America, providing expert insights to inform business decisions.
- Communication: Invest time in internal and external communication, ensuring efficiency and productivity within the organization.
- Organizational Development: Challenge the organization to find new solutions and approaches, implement corporate projects, and establish and grow company values.
- Key Relationships:
- Internal Networking: Collaborate with various company departments at the corporate level, including finance, strategic business units, services, logistics, corporate communication, and corporate HR.
- External Partnerships: Build strong relationships with peers, general managers in the region, financial controllers, other general managers within the company, and key stakeholders within strategic business units.
- Required Skills:
- Leadership and Management: General leadership skills, understanding of the external environment, sharing the company vision, strategic thinking, and short, mid, and long-term focus and planning.
- Delegation and Change Management: Manage change, hold managers accountable, promote values and ethics, understand financial and legal acumen, and be honest, humble, and highly committed.
- Sales and Negotiation: Excellent sales and negotiation skills, building partnerships, and tools and methodologies.
- People Skills: Interpersonal, empathy, empower colleagues, influence, holds managers accountable, promotes values & ethics, legal/finance, understands financial and legal acumen, and honest, humble, and highly committed.
- Education and Experience:
- Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in science or business-related field, an MBA is a plus, a minimum of 7-10 years of business-related experience within healthcare industries (IVD preferably), other industries considered as pharma and medical devices.
- Language and Computer Skills: Fluent in English and Spanish, and proficient in computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SAP, and other corporate tools.
Estimated Salary Range: $120,000 - $180,000 per year based on location and industry standards.
