About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Group Sales Manager to join our team in Cartagena, Colombia. As a Group Sales Manager, you will be responsible for promoting and selling to the group market in a defined geographic region. Your primary goal will be to generate hotel awareness through direct phone sales, direct sales calls, tradeshows, and networking groups.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Identify and target group customers that will generate business on behalf of the hotel without conflicting with our existing sales efforts.
  2. Negotiate, draft, generate, and confirm group contracts that ensure hotel budget and revenue targets are achieved.
  3. Adjust group pricing and recommend group concessions as needed to secure group business in support of hotel budget targets.
  4. Utilize various prospecting resources to solicit and secure business on behalf of the hotel.
  5. Follow up on all business inquiries and leads and qualify business to generate group room nights and associated food and beverage revenue to impact RevPar performance.
  6. Create and execute account plans for assigned market territory to ensure maximum group revenue and budgeted group targets are achieved.
  7. Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue and direct sales goals, including outside sales calls, prospecting calls, site inspections, and entertainment.
  8. Uncover potential P2P leads on behalf of sister properties and the company.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A college degree or equivalent experience.
  • Luxury hotel sales experience (minimum of 3 years) or 3-5 years of operational hotel experience.
  • A proven sales track record.
  • Reading, writing, and oral proficiency in English and Spanish.
  • Good personal and professional references.
  • Working computer skills and knowledge, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Delphi, Internet, and Opera.
