The KYC Compliance Specialist will be responsible for onboarding clients and minimizing risk through thorough research and adherence to compliance protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and analyze new applications submitted by various businesses wishing to utilize Tipalti's payables platform.
  • Examine documentation to verify its authenticity and ensure compliance with established standards during the application phase.
  • Engage and support internal and external stakeholders via email to gather all necessary information for the evaluation process.
  • Conduct a comprehensive business assessment of prospective clients using both proprietary tools and external resources.
  • Take ownership of the approval process for client applications, making final decisions on their acceptance.
  • Perform annual reviews of active accounts.
  • Collaborate with different departments to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Drive improvements in processes and efficiencies.
  • Uphold quality control standards by reviewing high-risk or complex cases.
  • Ensure that KYC controls are effectively implemented and monitored.
  • Manage escalations concerning high-risk clients and execute Enhanced Due Diligence procedures.
  • Serve as a primary contact for compliance-related issues arising from other departments.

Qualifications:

  • 1-3+ years of experience in risk analysis, fraud detection, client relations, and fintech.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on customer service and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with KYC tools and compliance technologies.
  • Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
  • Exhibit Tipalti's core value of ownership by demonstrating initiative and accountability.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements in the UK/EU is essential.
  • Ability to effectively manage relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in financial due diligence and transaction assessments is required.
  • Solid understanding of KYC, BSA, and AML regulations to identify and escalate significant risks.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Experience in startup environments or financial services is advantageous.
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is necessary.
