Accounting Specialist

Charger Logistics Inc. is a world-class asset-based carrier with a strong presence across North America. With over two decades of experience providing top-notch logistics solutions, Charger Logistics has evolved into a leading transport provider and continues to expand its operations. We are seeking a highly skilled individual with exceptional communication and leadership abilities to join our Accounting and Finance Department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Management: Oversee and monitor all financial accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems to ensure compliance with relevant GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
- Internal Controls: Maintain robust internal control safeguards for the receipt of revenue, costs, and team and organizational budgets and actual expenditures.
- Financial Planning: Collaborate with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to establish financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting standards on a regular basis.
- Accounting Policies: Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, adhering to federal, state, and local legal standards by staying up-to-date on existing, new, and future legislation.
- Asset Protection: Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflow.
- Team Leadership: Provide dynamic leadership to the accounting team, fostering an environment of trust and productivity.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or a related field.
- Advanced English skills.
- Proficient with financial software.
- 7-10+ years of proven accounting experience.
- Professional accounting certification, including CMA, CGA, or CA.
- Experience with Workday is an asset.
- Working knowledge of finance law and regulatory standards (GAAP).
- Strong understanding of economic and banking processes.
