Senior Accounting Specialist
The Senior Accounting Specialist role is integral to the financial operations of the organization. Reporting directly to the Accounting Supervisor, this position encompasses a variety of advanced accounting responsibilities that are essential for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with established accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the general ledger by accurately recording financial transactions and performing regular account reconciliations.
- Aid in the preparation of comprehensive financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports, ensuring all data is precise and complete.
- Facilitate the month-end and year-end closing processes by preparing necessary journal entries and conducting thorough account reconciliations.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures to uphold compliance with GAAP and IFRS standards.
- Engage in special projects, including audits, budgeting, and forecasting, as directed by management.
- Address inquiries from various departments and external stakeholders regarding accounting matters.
- Provide support to the accounting team with additional tasks as required.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, IFRS, and other relevant accounting principles.
- Familiarity with accounting software such as Netsuite, Oracle, or SAP is advantageous.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in work.
- Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
- Eagerness to learn and embrace new challenges.
