About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accounting Specialist to join our team at adidas. As a key member of our Retail Accounting team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting for our Retail business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting: Perform month-end closing, corrections, and in-depth analysis of Retail-related accounting topics to ensure accuracy in financial statements.
  • Reconciliation and Discrepancies: Support the reconciliation and investigation of discrepancies for Retail GL accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Accounting Treatment: Ensure the correct accounting treatment is applied to all Retail held by adidas LAM locations and revalue balance sheet accounts of all companies within the area of responsibility.
  • System Monitoring: Monitor systems interfaces, review, and explain variations in Retail data across different IT systems.
  • Process Improvement: Identify, implement, and/or support process improvements and harmonization with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Policy Implementation: Support the implementation of Retail Accounting policies to ensure compliance with internal and local guidelines for both existing and future initiatives.
  • Accounting Activities: Support the successful execution of all accounting activities for Retail topics, ensuring work is completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with Global Financial Shared Services and other teams on ad hoc Retail Accounting projects as required.
  • Internal Queries: Attend to queries from internal departments in relation to Retail Accounting policies and procedures.
  • Audit Support: Assist in the preparation of internal and external audit requests.
  • Financial Security: Maintain financial security by adhering to internal controls.

Requisite Education and Experience
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in Accounting and/or Finance
  • Language: Fluency in written & spoken English
  • Computer Skills: Proficient computer skills (MS-Office)
  • SAP Experience: SAP experience preferred
