We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Specialist/Lead Accounting Specialist to join our team at American Airlines. As a key member of our Accounting Office, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of our financial transactions.
Key Responsibilities- Financial Analysis and Reporting: Prepare and review financial reports, including balance sheet account reconciliations and journal entries, to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal controls and regulations.
- Disbursements and Banking: Oversee the day-to-day operations of disbursements and banking activities, including processing invoices and resolving discrepancies.
- Tax and Statistical Filings: Support the preparation and submission of tax and statistical filings, ensuring compliance with local regulations and company policies.
- Project Management: Work on multiple projects simultaneously, setting deadlines and adjusting priorities to ensure timely completion.
- Team Leadership: Supervise a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful completion of tasks and projects.
- Communication and Collaboration: Liaise with vendors, stations, and other teams to resolve issues and ensure smooth operations.
- Financial Planning and Budgeting: Assist in the development and implementation of financial plans and budgets, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
- Education: University degree in accounting or equivalent education/training.
- Experience: At least 3 years of experience working in an accounting environment, with a strong background in financial analysis and reporting.
- Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Language: Fluent in verbal and written English.
