**WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING**

We have a great opportunity to work as an Advisory Manager in the Data Protection Office within the Legal & Regulatory Directorate.

You will use a risk-based approach to provide specialised data protection advice, guidance and oversight to support the business in complying with data protection legislation and associated codes of practice across the Santander UK business and build strong relationships with internal and external business contacts.

You will provide expertise to internal senior stakeholders and will influence as well as work in partnership with, other functions and business areas, to ensure adherence to relevant policies and frameworks.

- Proactively maintain relationships, open communication with, and actively promote data protection to, the business and other control functions, and provide support where necessary to address regulatory requirements
- Supporting the bank in meeting its business, legal, regulatory and stakeholder obligations in respect of Data Protection Compliance.
- Providing commercially sensitive pragmatic advice to bring about successful implementation of solutions in accordance with the latest data protection legislation and ensuring Santander meets its regulatory obligations.
- Proactively supporting the bank in meeting its business, legal, regulatory and stakeholder obligations in respect of Data Protection Compliance.

**What you’ll bring.**
- A sound working knowledge of the latest data protection and associated legislation, e.g. Data Protection Act 2018, UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Privacy & Electronic Communications Regulation (PECR); together with ICO guidance and codes of conduct
- Ability to analyse and evaluate complex issues and sound judgement in determining appropriate actions/solutions

**It would also be nice for you to have.**
- Experience of working in Policy & Advisory across different aspects of financial services / financial markets
- Excellent analytical, interpretation, influencing and communication skills; with an ability to communicate and network effectively to influence management and external parties
- Ability to build collaborative relationships across the business to Senior Manager level
- Strong interpersonal skills - persuades and influences others, using a range of approaches, to achieve deliverables

This is a permanent role based in Milton Keynes with a hybrid working approach.
