About the Position

A Financial Operations Accountant is responsible for executing a range of accounting and treasury management functions, providing expert accounting services that are consultative in nature. This role ensures that the organization adheres to accounting principles and standards while effectively managing its financial resources and complying with all applicable regulations, laws, and reporting obligations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform account reconciliations, record journal entries, and maintain a comprehensive and precise general ledger in alignment with accounting standards and reporting timelines, ensuring a clear and accurate representation of the organization's financial status.
  • Manage daily treasury operations within the designated region, including payment processing, liquidity management, hedging activities, and reporting to the central treasury team.
  • Oversee master data management for bank accounts, payment processes, banking administration, currency exposure reporting, and liquidity forecasting within the region.
  • Take responsibility for the complete treasury process in daily operations, including treasury accounting and closing tasks.
  • Serve as a knowledgeable advisory partner for treasury services, offering technical accounting and treasury guidance to operational managers and finance colleagues.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards set by the organization, along with compliance with internal policies and legal regulations.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks and secure treasury service processes as outlined in framework agreements and/or service level agreements.
  • Address and resolve escalated issues from treasury administrators and other stakeholders, escalating significant challenges or inquiries as necessary.
  • Provide feedback to key contacts regarding required changes, inefficiencies, or other potential concerns.
  • Collaborate in identifying and implementing effective solutions within a matrix organizational structure.
  • Follow accounting standards and internal policies, maintaining communication with business contacts.
  • Assist in resolving findings from external and internal audits.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 1 to 3 years of practical experience in treasury and accounting functions.
  • Familiarity with SAP solutions is advantageous.
  • Strong business acumen, communication, and analytical skills, facilitating collaboration across various functions.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of diligence and thoroughness.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities effectively.
  • High standards of integrity, serving as a role model for business ethics and compliance.
  • Experience in complex, cross-cultural matrix organizations is a plus.
