About the Role

At Medtronic, we're seeking a skilled Data Architect to join our team. As a key member of our data architecture team, you'll play a crucial role in designing and building cloud-based data pipelines that transform raw data into actionable insights for our business.

Responsibilities

Some of your key responsibilities will include:
  1. Leading the design and development of cloud-based data pipelines using technologies like Snowflake, Informatica Cloud, Coalesce, DBT, Airflow, Oracle, and Python.
  2. Championing best practices for data architecture, governance, and security.
  3. Defining and implementing data quality standards and processes.
  4. Collaborating with engineering teams to develop and deploy data pipelines, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability.
  5. Partnering with data analysts and business stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into technical requirements.
  6. Staying up to date on the latest advancements in cloud data technologies and trends.
  7. Mentoring and guiding junior data architects and engineers.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need:
  • A Bachelor's degree in computer science, systems engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of proven work experience as a Data Architect.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Proven experience in data modeling and data architecture design, with a strong focus on cloud-based platforms.
  • Proven experience implementing data warehousing solutions (cloud preferred).
  • Strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor junior-level data architects and data engineers.
  • Experience with large enterprise systems & solutions.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python preferred).
  • Experience with CI/CD tooling: Azure DevOps, Git.
  • Experience with Test Automation.
Preferred Qualifications

While not required, experience in Snowflake, Databricks, AWS, Azure, Kafka, Hadoop, and Spark would be a plus.
