What You Can Expect in a 'Payroll Manager' Role with TaskUsThe Payroll Manager plays a crucial role in processing payroll from start to finish in compliance with local regulations for multiple sites or entities. They serve as the lead sponsor for projects related to payroll as needed.
The key responsibilities of the Payroll Manager position include:
- Evaluating the payroll process and providing recommendations for improvement.
- Providing managerial support and guidance for payroll activities.
- Managing payroll and timekeeping systems.
- Maintaining partnerships with various vendors for payroll, timekeeping, garnishments, and governmental agencies.
- Demonstrating a solid understanding of employment law, regulatory, and legal compliance to address notifications and provide guidance to team members.
- Completing payroll reconciliations and designing new reports as needed.
- Ensuring positive team performance and adherence to process service levels in accordance with set standards.
- Ensuring that all internal risk and control guidelines are met and executed in every process.
- Developing resolutions to complex problems that require the frequent use of creativity.
- Partnering with process peers in Human Resources, Benefits, Finance, Accounting, Treasury, Legal, Labor Relations, Corporate Taxes, and related third-party vendors to resolve employee questions/issues.
Estimated Salary: $70,000 - $90,000 per year (dependent on location and experience).
Qualifications and SkillsTo be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and skills:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Financial Management, or a related field.
- Good written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with stakeholders.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
- Able to work on a night shift schedule and adapt to a hybrid setup if required.
