Senior Accounts Payable Manager

Job DescriptionThis is a full-time position that requires the candidate to work from home. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing superior returns to investors through accurate and reliable financial information.
The primary responsibilities of this role include receiving, reviewing, and entering supplier invoices. Additionally, the candidate will review and audit non-trade invoices, employee expense reports, and petty cash reimbursement reports to ensure they have been prepared and calculated correctly.
The ideal candidate will analyze discrepancies and unpaid invoices, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all vendor invoice payments (EFT, ACH, Cheques) in accordance with vendor terms and policies.
The candidate will also ensure all deadlines and customer service requests are met. Furthermore, they will review and verify accounts payable invoices daily to ensure compliance with policies and procedures for elements such as proper authorization and coding accuracy.
Assisting and providing recommendations for updates to existing policies and procedures to ensure best practices are maintained is another key responsibility of this role.
The candidate will assist in the implementation of systems related to AP entries and payments. They will supervise AP clerks assisting with the above functions, design and implement training for employees on various accounts payable procedures, and provide feedback to the Controller/Director of Finance as part of department performance management.
Overseeing receipts and deposits posted by the Collections team, reviewing and approving deposits, and flagging any issues are also essential duties of this role.
Requirements- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Business Management, or other related fields required;
- Minimum 5 years of experience with Accounts Payable or related roles, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role;
- Intermediate Excel skills and working knowledge of real estate and property management financial accounting systems and software required;
- Working knowledge of multi-currency transactions, accrual accounting concepts, and job costing expected;
- Sound understanding of accounting concepts and principles necessary;
- Aptitude for detail and accuracy in data entry required;
- Personal Competencies: Supports a teamwork environment with a positive and professional attitude, open to learning and developing new skills/knowledge, focuses on results, anticipates problems, identifies solutions, and takes action;
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills necessary;
- Ability to work independently and under pressure, dealing with deadlines, demonstrates integrity in decision-making, listening, and treatment of others;
$70,000 - $90,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
