Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Bogotá. As a key member of our Source to Pay – Accounts Payable department, you will play a critical role in driving financial control over accounts payable records.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and reviewing payment proposals for adidas subsidiaries, clarifying and reconciling differences on postings, and ensuring timely completion of month-end journal entries in accordance with company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation and review of payment proposals for adidas subsidiaries, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies.
- Clarification and reconciliation of differences on postings, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Preparation of month-end journal entries, including accruals, depreciation, provisions, and prepayments, ensuring timely completion and accuracy.
- Balancesheet Reconciliations, ensuring accurate and complete information.
- Coordination with other departments to obtain necessary information about transactions and research unreconciled items.
- Preparation of External and Internal Audit requests, maintaining accurate and complete records.
- Creation and analysis of various reports under area of responsibility, including regular reporting.
- Maintenance of files and documentation, ensuring thoroughness and accuracy in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices.
- Identification of improvement opportunities and support for their implementation.
- Assistance with ongoing projects for the implementation of technology solutions.
- Support for requests from partner Finance departments.
Requirements
- University degree or equivalent experience, preferably in accounting or business.
- 2-4 years of relevant experience in Accounts Payable, with direct functional experience preferred.
- Strong accounting knowledge, with experience with SAP an advantage.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail and high customer orientation.
