Collections Specialist Job Description
Auxis is seeking a skilled Collections Specialist to join our team. As a Collections Specialist, you will be responsible for handling the collections process on behalf of our clients. Your primary goal will be to ensure timely and accurate collection of outstanding payments from customers, while maintaining strong relationships and providing excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of client accounts and perform collections activities to ensure timely payment of outstanding invoices.
- Utilize various communication channels to contact customers and address payment delinquencies, negotiate payment arrangements, and resolve outstanding issues.
- Document all collection activities, including customer interactions, payment commitments, and updates on account statuses, using our internal systems.
- Follow company and client-specific collections policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and guidelines.
- Collaborate with internal teams to obtain necessary information, resolve disputes, and provide updates on collection efforts.
- Provide exceptional customer service by promptly responding to customer inquiries and addressing concerns related to billing and payment.
- Generate regular reports on collections performance, including account aging, payment trends, and collection activity summaries.
- Stay updated on relevant industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes to enhance collections strategies and maintain compliance.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in accounting, finance, or a related field is a plus.
- B2+ language proficiency.
- 1+ years of previous experience in collections, accounts receivable, or customer service within an outsourcing company or a similar environment is preferred.
- Solid knowledge of collections principles, techniques, and best practices.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively interact with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities to resolve payment disputes and reach mutually beneficial payment arrangements.
- Proficiency in using collections software, ERPs, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining records and documenting collection activities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple client accounts simultaneously.
