About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to lead a team that works with the most exciting startups and top startup organizations in Latin America (LATAM). We are seeking a Senior Manager to lead the LATAM Startup Business Development team, responsible for defining strategies to drive adoption of AWS services in startup customers.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Define and execute strategies to drive adoption of AWS services in startup customers.
  2. Lead a high-performing, diverse team across Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Argentina, and Colombia.
  3. Collaborate and partner with other functions (sales, marketing, solutions architects) to execute plans and programs.
  4. Be the key spokesperson to share AWS value proposition in the LATAM startup ecosystem as a presenter at events, meetings, and with interviews with the press.
  5. Build and maintain relationships with top founders, investors, accelerators, and incubators in LATAM.
  6. Represent LATAM in global startup business development forums, sharing and capturing best practices from other GEOs.
About the Team

The Startup Business Development team is responsible for managing relationships with LATAM's top Venture Capital Firms, Accelerators, and Incubators. They also oversee scaled motions to drive adoption of AWS services with the long tail of customers in LATAM.

This role offers the opportunity to combine your passion for and knowledge of startups with your experience building and leading teams within one of the world's leading and pioneering cloud and technology companies. In addition to possessing senior management experience leading diverse and geographically dispersed teams, the ideal candidate is creative and inventive, enjoys solving complex problems on behalf of startup customers, and working effectively with cross-functional teams in a highly-matrixed organization while thriving in a fast-paced setting that is constantly evolving.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience with startups and/or the startup ecosystem(s)
  • Business acumen required to identify and support startups with strong potential to succeed and scale
  • Significant technology-related business development and/or sales experience
  • Demonstrated creative problem-solving skills
  • Prior experience building and leading diverse teams as well as delivering results through influencing related teams and functions
  • Experience working across different LATAM markets
  • Proven track record driving customer acquisition
  • Demonstrated history of meeting and exceeding performance goals
  • Experience as a public speaker
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong leadership skills, with significant experience as a manager of managers
  • BA/BS degree
  • English (written and spoken)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Senior operating experience within a tech startup
  • Experience founding and/or scaling and managing a tech startup is highly preferential
  • Extensive customer and startup ecosystem networks
  • A technical background in engineering, computer science, or MIS is a plus
  • MBA degree in relevant field
  • Fluent in Spanish and Portuguese
