**About the role**:
The Global ER function provides professional and expert advice and support in the management of employee relations issues including the ER implications of change projects, redundancy, grievances, appeals, disciplinary matters and bullying and harassment.

The ER Case Managers play a key role in the successful management of our global ER casework agenda. Operating in line with our global polices, and local legislation, the ER Case Manager will be responsible for end-to-end case management for a range of cases identified to be either sensitive or complex and will also be required to support and advise informal resolution and undertake investigations as required in support of issues in any of the countries in which we operate.

**Main Responsibilities**
- Working effectively as part of a wider global ER casework team.
- Providing a level of rigour, assurance, and consistency of approach in the management and support of cases.
- Ensuring all essential documentation related to cases is stored in a central archive and in accordance with the set of standards and protocols (naming conventions etc) established.
- Managing cases effectively, considering legal implications, and escalating as necessary
- Supporting and advising on informal resolution.
- Undertaking investigations.
- Driving timely resolution of all matters.
- Coaching and developing line management capability in employee relations matters, with a strong focus on informal resolution.
- Providing advice and clarification to the Advisory hubs on ER policies relating to disputes and dispute resolution.
- Providing insights and learnings from cases managed.
- A focus on continuous improvement.

**Minimum/essential requirements**
- Experience of advising on and supporting the management a range of complex employee relations cases.
- Proven experience of successful stakeholder management. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to challenge constructively and influence.
- Experience of undertaking complex employee relations investigations and report writing. Ability to write and present well thought through information clearly and concisely.
- Experience of working with and managing internal and external legal team relationships
- Experience of informal resolution
- Ability to demonstrate cultural sensitivity
- Ability to plan workload, meet deadlines, and hold others to account
- Ability to provide insight and analysis
- Ability to deliver with rigour and pace
- Ability to work with competing priorities and requirements

**Language Requirements**

The British Council systems and global processes operate in English. Written and verbal proficiency in English is required
