By working closely with project owners and developers as well as their local communities, we manage the complete registration, verification and evaluation of carbon projects to enable the issuance of emission-reduction certificates, in line with official carbon standards. **Job summary**:
As a Regional Senior Specialist, Stakeholder Engagement, NBS, Climate Projects - LatAm, you will be responsible for the stakeholder’s engagement affairs from the project cycle, supporting and advising the stakeholders' participation in formulating and certifying carbon and biodiversity projects in the region. Reporting directly to the Regional Manager, Stakeholder Engagement, NBS, Climate Projects - Latam.

You will support the design, development and implementation of the emission reduction and biodiversity projects for community engagement and monitoring in close collaboration with the Project Manager (PM) and periodically gather information required by the standards to complete the validation and verification of the carbon and biodiversity projects.

You will also perform by identifying and reporting on all socio-cultural and governance aspects that community projects must follow, knowing all compliance terms of carbon and biodiversity project standards and national laws, and following the governance structure of the local communities and the context related to the guidelines.

Also, you will support the proper development of the social strategy in the project cycle (including due diligence, design, implementation, and monitoring of activities implemented) and be responsible for stakeholders’ engagement affairs from the project cycle, supporting and advising the participation of stakeholders in the processes of formulation and certification of carbon projects in Latam.

Finally, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality products and assisting in the audit process to verify and validate GHG reductions. Also, participate in business rounds, technical sessions, and other events where needed.

**Main tasks & responsibilities**:

- Coordinate the Stakeholder Engagement and Social Impacts Monitoring component in projects; contribute technically to feasibility studies, project design documents, validation, monitoring, reporting, and verification (MRV) under different standards, and resolution of regional findings
- Develop and implement the Local Stakeholders Consultation process and report preparation, completing them to the best quality required by the Standards, South Pole and the Project Partner
- Develop community monitoring plans and reports according to project goals and indicators, Standards requirements, and specific local conditions (stakeholders’ capacities)
- Identify and evaluate community impacts and social and environmental risks and their mitigation measures that may be incurred by implementing projects
- Support the design and adaptive management of the Stakeholder Engagement and Social Impacts Monitoring Approach and protocols/tools for Due Diligence, Planning, Design, Development, Implementation and Monitoring of the Climate Project cycle in the region
- Support the region's analysis and compliance with the Free, Prior, and Informed Consent (FPIC) process
- Collaborate in the design and execution of the Communication and Pedagogic Plan within the Regional Stakeholder Engagement Approach framework
- Support the Project Partners and Project Proponents in accomplishing the rules of the Standards and requirements, including environmental and social safeguards in the region
- Conduct research related to community aspects in the framework of climate projects, human rights, rights of indigenous communities, climate and land use policy compliance and safeguards in the region
- Support the proposal and deliverables and finalise them to the quality required by South Pole and third parties (e.g. VVBs, Standards, Project Partners and other relevant stakeholders)
- Support in collaboration with the NBS Implementation team the design and execution of the Project Partner's Manual (roles and responsibilities) and the activities to strengthen their capacities in project certification
- Support the communication of key achievements of the projects, success stories, and lessons learned through reports, media, websites
