At our HR Shared Services Department in Medtronic, plc, we focus on administrative, project, operational and data support for AskHR and Centers of Expertise ("CoE's") in the execution of HR processes to ensure consistency, effectiveness and efficiency promoting use and adoption of our HR technology platforms.

Benefit Operations is directly involved in providing customers with accurate, consistent and timely responses to their questions and issues regarding benefit programs and technology needs, developing an in-depth understanding of the customer's needs and engages with customers to ensure quality of response, contributes to the continuous development of knowledge based tools to provide consistent responses to customers, if functional expertise is required escalates cases in a timely way to appropriate Center of Expertise (COE) and promotes the use of self-help tools such as Workday and knowledge base to encourage customers to answer questions on their own.


A Day in the Life
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Provides centralized human resource administration and support across a variety of processes and programs including Global Rewards, Global Talent & Leadership Development, Global HR Operations and Employee Relations.
  • Collaborates across the Human Resources function to establish operational standards and procedures that are leveraged to respond to employee and manager questions, ensures transactions are processed accurately and human resource programs and processes are administered effectively and efficiently.
  • Leads & participates in internal and crossfunctional initiatives related to continuous process and quality improvement initiatives (such as Lean or Six Sigma).
  • Identifies customerimpacting issues and implement solutions and process improvements to increase customer experiences.
  • Ensures streamlined human processes, workflows, metrics, and system optimization.
  • Helps to define requirements for systems that will facilitate increased efficiencies, automation and/or selfservice for various HR processes.
  • May also create test plans, lead testing cycles, and configure systems.
  • Functional Skills: HR Program Administration, HR Policies, Human Resources Information Systems, Data Analysis, Knowledge Management.
  • Additional Skills: Problem Solving, Detail Oriented, Cross-Functional, Collaboration, Customer Service, Process Improvement, Communication.
Typically an individual contributor with responsibility in a professional discipline or specialty. Delivers and/or manages projects assigned and works with other stakeholders to achieve desired results. May act as a mentor to colleagues or may direct the work of other lower level professionals.

The majority of time is spent delivering and overseeing the projects - from design to implementation - while and adhering to policies, using specialized knowledge and skills normally acquired through advanced education.

Must Have:
Minimum Requirements


  • High school degree.
  • 2 years of experience required in HR support, compensations or finance related activities.
  • Fluent English level.
  • Autonomy.
  • Teamwork.
  • Intermediate Excel level.
  • Experience in building strong working relationships with customer groups.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking, ability to collaborate, generate ideas and set high standards focusing on the customer.
  • Ability to work in a fast based environment using your own initiative.
  • Strong attention to detail and have a technical aptitude possessing strong computer skills specially in Excel.
  • Strong verbal and writing communications skills.
  • Contributes to the completion of project milestones.
  • May have some involvement in cross functional assignments.
