About the Role

Rush Street Interactive, a leading online casino and sports betting company, is seeking a highly skilled Latin America Tax Manager to support its Latin America operations. As a key member of the finance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations, contributing to the company's goal of maintaining financial accuracy, and overseeing tax-related functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Internal Teams and External Advisors: Work closely with internal team members and external tax advisors to support the company's Latin America tax compliance efforts.
  • Review and Provide Feedback: Review tax information prepared by third-party tax advisors and provide appropriate feedback as necessary.
  • Identify Cost-Saving Opportunities: Identify opportunities to reduce costs by preparing tax-related documentation with internal resources instead of third-party tax advisors.
  • Ensure Tax Strategies and Policies: Work with finance and accounting teams to ensure tax strategies and policies are properly implemented in accordance with local tax laws and regulations.
  • Participate in Tax Planning Innovation: Participate in tax planning innovation discussions and support the execution of tax planning strategies.
  • Proactively Identify Tax Efficiency Opportunities: Maintain a thorough understanding of Latin America operations to proactively identify tax efficiency opportunities.
  • Identify, Track, and Report Tax Risks: Identify, track, and report any potential tax risks or issues and work closely with the finance team to implement appropriate solutions.
  • Maintain Documentation and Records: Maintain documentation and records related to tax filings, provisions, and other tax-related activities.
  • Resolve Tax-Related Communications: Resolve and prepare the formal answer to all tax-related communications from vendors and employees.
  • Coordinate and Manage Tax Audits: Coordinate and manage tax audits, inquiries, and notices from tax authorities.
  • Manage Indirect Taxes: Manage efforts around certain indirect taxes, including value-added tax and withholding taxes.
  • Evaluate Financial and Fiscal Impacts: Evaluate the financial and fiscal impacts to gain a comprehensive understanding of tax and customs challenges.
  • Build Professional Network: Build and maintain a professional network to share best practices.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, with a postgraduate degree in Tax Management or a related field.
  • Experience: 10+ years of related professional experience with accounting and taxes (online gaming experience is a plus).
  • Language Skills: Fluent in both Spanish and English.
  • Organizational and Communication Skills: Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills with the ability to present findings and information to various levels of an organization.
  • Problem-Solving and Integrity: Experience and a desire to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment that demands creativity and flexibility, with a strong ability to recognize and correct potential tax issues quickly and effectively, and implement and uphold company values.
