We are a rapidly growing company in the automotive technology sector, seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Payroll Specialist to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring our employees are paid accurately and on time, while also supporting basic accounting functions.

Position Overview

We are looking for a full-time Payroll Specialist who will primarily focus on managing our payroll processes, with additional responsibilities in invoicing, accounts receivable (AR), and accounts payable (AP). The ideal candidate will have solid experience in payroll processing and a keen eye for detail.

Key Details
  • Full-time position: Monday to Friday
  • Hours: 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM EST
Primary Responsibilities
  1. Payroll Processing
    • Manage and process payroll (weekly or bi-weekly, to be confirmed)
    • Calculate wages, overtime, and deductions
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
    • Maintain accurate employee payroll records
    • Address payroll-related inquiries from employees
    • Prepare and file payroll tax returns and reports
  2. Additional Accounting Support
    • Assist with invoicing and accounts receivable (AR)
    • Help with accounts payable (AP) processing
    • Perform basic account reconciliations
    • Support other finance and accounting tasks as needed
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in Accounting or related field is a plus
  • 2+ years of experience in payroll processing
  • Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of payroll tax laws and regulations
  • Strong attention to detail and high degree of accuracy
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks)
  • Basic understanding of general accounting principles
  • Familiarity with HR and timekeeping systems
