Purpose
Join the Resilience Analytics team within Technology Internal Controls and Regulatory Management (ICRM) for Global Technology & Enterprise Platforms (GTEP) at Scotiabank. The GTEP ICRM team is integral to the Bank's Risk Governance Framework, serving as the First Line of Defense for GTEP and the Bank across all technology risk domains, including Cyber Security, Data Privacy, Software Currency, Disaster Recovery, Third Party Management, and Audit and Regulatory issue remediation.
Reliable and resilient systems are essential for delivering dependable business applications to our clients. The Resilience Analytics team's mission is to create metrics, collect data, analyze it, and provide insights to executives, execution teams, board representatives, and external regulators. Many of our initiatives involve designing new metrics and sourcing new data, where creativity and relationship-building with potential sources are vital. We communicate our resilience narrative to a senior audience, making proficiency in English and the ability to analyze data for insights crucial. Our collaboration spans process owners, technology owners, application owners, and various risk, audit, and regulatory bodies globally.
Key Responsibilities
Foster a customer-centric culture to enhance client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge. Identify patterns in complex data to recommend areas for ongoing study that will enhance technology stability. Serve as a subject matter expert in business process transformation, relying on data gathering and consolidation from multiple business lines to assess Technology Service Performance and key risk areas affecting system stability and resilience. Innovate to streamline and automate processes within Resilience Analytics, focusing on data quality dimensions such as timeliness, completeness, and consistency. Provide technical design insights to guide the engineering team in architecting data solutions involving ETL from data sources and optimizing presentation in dashboards. Advocate for and implement processes aimed at enhancing data quality, collaborating with stakeholders to design and implement improvements when gaps are identified. Engage with stakeholders and data contributors across various business units and regional reporting processes, offering ongoing support and guidance to global process stakeholders and support teams. Maintain a strong attention to detail in delivering quality daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports for various risk departments and lines of business. Director, Resilience Analytics Technology Resilience and ReliabilityScope of Role
Reporting to the Director, Resilience Data Analytics, the Data Analytics Solution Expert (DASE) will play a pivotal role in the success of Technology Internal Controls and Regulatory Management for GTEP by ensuring that goals, plans, and initiatives are executed and delivered in alignment with the team's business strategies and objectives. The DASE will conduct all activities in accordance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
This role will promote a data-driven focus on technology resilience across the enterprise. You will lead and contribute significantly to key initiatives involving metric design, data point identification, collaboration with engineering teams on solutions, and dashboard creation. Daily responsibilities will include reviewing existing dashboards and data to identify potential risk areas for evaluation and investment. Additionally, you will prepare presentations and reports for risk committees and regulators.
You will champion a data-driven approach through the development and dissemination of effective dashboards that measure Technology Service performance. You will also play a crucial role in organizational change management, including communication and the development/roll-out of training. A key deliverable will be comprehensive board and regulatory reporting on Technology Service performance.
Qualifications / Experience / Additional Information
A minimum of 5 years of experience as a technical analyst or business analyst in a data analytics environment, providing insights into data. At least 5 years of progressive hands-on experience in Business/System Analysis with a demonstrated focus on process design and organizational change management in a large technology environment. A minimum of 3 years of experience in IT Service Management (ITSM), covering Service Requests, Incidents, Problems, Changes, Releases, and Configuration Management Databases (CMDB). A solid understanding of technical data solutions (interfaces, data connections, ETL, data visualization tools such as Power BI) and familiarity with Python. At least 3 years of experience in writing for and presenting to an executive audience (VP+ level) with the ability to synthesize quantitative and qualitative information for this audience. Proficiency in Spanish is a plus. Proven interpersonal and negotiation skills that facilitate consensus-building and cooperation from both support teams and senior management. Over 5 years of experience in developing, leading, and mentoring teams. A completed post-secondary education; ITIL Foundations certification (versions 3 and/or 4); proficiency in business analysis and technical areas related to data analytics. Project Management or Risk Management experience or certifications are advantageous. Experience in organizational change management is beneficial. Experience in facilitating and conducting workshops is a plus.-
