About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Lead to join our team at Amwell. As a Quality Assurance Lead, you will be responsible for leading our quality assurance efforts, developing testing strategies, and ensuring that our software products meet the required standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor the QA team, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and implement testing strategies, plans, and processes to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
  • Create detailed test plans and test cases based on project requirements and specifications.
  • Oversee the execution of manual and automated testing, ensuring timely delivery of quality software.
  • Work closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and define acceptance criteria.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for QA-related issues, providing updates and reporting on test progress and results.
  • Identify, document, and track defects through the testing lifecycle, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of defects and collaborate with development teams to implement corrective actions.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve QA processes and methodologies, implementing industry best practices.
  • Advocate for quality throughout the development lifecycle, promoting a shift-left testing approach.
  • Provide regular status reports on testing progress, defect metrics, and quality assurance activities to management.
  • Utilize data to drive decisions and improvements in the QA process.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Experience with automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG) and test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail).
  • Familiarity with programming languages (e.g., Java, Python) and scripting for test automation.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
