Objective
This role plays a vital part in the success of the GOCT business divisions and IT&S, ensuring that individual goals, plans, and initiatives are effectively executed in alignment with the team's strategic objectives. All activities must adhere to relevant regulations, internal policies, and established procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Foster a customer-centric culture to enhance client relationships and utilize broader organizational resources, systems, and expertise. Maintain a business-oriented perspective to guarantee that the Technology team delivers suitable products for stakeholders, ensuring user stories are well-defined and the scope of work is clearly understood. Support the Scrum Master in managing agile delivery and adoption (JIRA, Confluence, Kanban, ServiceNow). Ensure that backlogs are visible, transparent, and prioritized to achieve significant outcomes, and manage requirements for demonstration sessions with stakeholder teams. Collaborate with stakeholders and support teams to establish necessary service procedures, policies, and standards in compliance with internal guidelines. Assist and support software development and the Support team in meeting their objectives by applying innovative problem-solving approaches to enhance design effectiveness, procedures, and cost-efficient solutions while adhering to business and regulatory requirements. Identify root causes of frequently occurring issues and support actionable plans to enhance the performance of the development team through substantial modifications to our products and services. Oversee business and software development metrics for software products, analyzing large datasets to create reports and presentations for leadership. Utilize various software tools to assist the bank and designated teams in developing appropriate workflows and templates. Comprehend how the Bank's risk appetite and culture should be integrated into daily activities and decision-making processes. Actively pursue effective and efficient operations within respective areas, adhering to Scotiabank's Values, Code of Conduct, and Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy and effectiveness of daily business controls to meet operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk obligations. Promote a high-performance environment and contribute to an inclusive workplace.Scope
Supported business units: RBBO, Adjudications, GBS, OCS, Global Compliance, Global Complaints, and IB Operations. 1-2 Direct Reports Global (Canada & IB).Qualifications / Experience / Additional Information
Required: University or College degree in Business, Engineering, or Computer Science. Knowledge of the software life cycle. General understanding of project management. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities. An agile mindset with the flexibility to adapt to changing environments. Excellent written, verbal, virtual, and in-person communication skills (Spanish is considered an asset). 2+ years of experience as a Business Analyst and 1+ year in a similar role. Familiarity with Atlassian Confluence and Jira methodologies is highly desirable, along with knowledge of IT Business Management.Work Environment
