**Job Summary:**
We are looking for a highly skilled Payroll Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting, reviewing, and analyzing payroll information, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Collect and review payroll information to ensure accuracy and compliance with tax laws
- Analyze payroll data to identify trends and areas for improvement
- Research and file tax returns and deposits with federal, state, and local authorities
- Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations
- Maintain accurate records of employee data and payroll history
- Perform check reconciliation and direct deposit processing
- Research and collect data for tax authorities during audits and appeals
- Produce reports to prevent and detect issues that could affect taxation and payroll
- Reconcile payroll tax reporting after each pay run
**Requirements:**
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- 4+ years of hands-on accounting and payroll experience
- Proven experience as a Payroll Lead and in-depth knowledge of payroll regulations, tax codes, and compliance requirements
- Previous experience with QuickBooks and Sage 300 is an asset
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, MS Outlook, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
