The Senior Specialist in Genomic Informatics will leverage their extensive knowledge in genomics and informatics to identify and secure sales opportunities within the informatics domain. This role involves engaging with potential clients and collaborating with Illumina colleagues to promote Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) and genomic data analysis solutions, particularly in the context of genetic and clinical research.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enhance customer engagement and drive sales growth of our informatics offerings by:
- Providing expert technical guidance throughout the sales process, focusing on areas such as NGS data management, analysis, and reporting.
- Consulting with clients on their informatics needs, ensuring they have the necessary tools for effective data analysis.
- Delivering comprehensive product demonstrations and proof-of-concept analyses to showcase the suitability of our solutions.
- Collaborating with third-party vendors to deliver integrated solutions that enhance Illumina's value proposition in research and clinical settings.
Collaboration and Development:
- Work closely with the sales team, including account managers and other specialists, to ensure client success in bioinformatics and NGS data analysis.
- Develop and present both basic and advanced informatics seminars and presentations, which may include demonstrations and proof-of-concept activities.
- Act as the regional expert for the Illumina Informatics portfolio, providing training and updates to the broader sales organization as needed.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Foster and maintain strong relationships with clients to facilitate license renewals and ongoing engagement.
- Gather and relay customer feedback to internal teams to inform product development and marketing strategies.
- Assist clients in overcoming informatics challenges that may hinder sample volume and sequencing uptake.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, ideally with a degree in Bioinformatics, Biology, Genetics, or Biochemistry (Master's or Ph.D. preferred).
- Proficiency in Portuguese, Spanish, and English, both written and verbal.
- Experience in a customer-facing sales role is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Deep technical knowledge in clinical informatics or bioinformatics, along with familiarity with sequencing applications and data analysis methods.
- Working knowledge of cloud services, Linux, Python, and APIs is essential.
