Job Title: Environmental Specialist - Biodiversity Conservation

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Specialist to join our team in Central America, Caribbean, Colombia, and Mexico (CCM) region. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading our regional activities in biodiversity conservation and risk management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement biodiversity conservation strategies for IFC-financed projects in the CCM region.
  • Collaborate with project lead E&S specialists to identify and mitigate biodiversity risks.
  • Provide technical assistance to clients and IFC staff on biodiversity management and conservation.
  • Conduct field assessments and monitoring to ensure compliance with IFC's Performance Standard 6 (PS6) on Biodiversity Conservation and Sustainable Management of Living Natural Resources.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and local communities.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in a relevant field, such as biology, ecology, or environmental science.
  • At least 10 years of experience in private sector biodiversity management, with a focus on emerging markets.
  • Deep knowledge of the biodiversity and ecology of the CCM region.
  • Experience with IFC's PS6 and Guidance Note 6 is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
