About the location:

Nestled along Colombia's Caribbean coast in the historic city of Cartagena, Four Seasons is revitalizing a collection of iconic buildings dating back to the 16th century. About the role

Your primary responsibility will be to secure and manage 'Event Sales' business from both social and corporate markets through proactive promotion, solicitation, and prospecting, all while upholding Four Seasons standards and maximizing revenue potential.

Key Responsibilities

Proactively seek new business opportunities and respond to inquiries with the goal of confirming profitable catering contracts and achieving quarterly sales targets. Maintain a systematic follow-up process for all inquiries and personal sales interactions. Conduct property tours and host planners for meetings, social gatherings, and weddings. Participate in meetings with hotel staff and clients, including but not limited to: Morning Operations Briefing, Event Sales Briefing, Resume Meeting, Banquet Event Order Meeting, Sales Meeting, Pre-Convention Meetings, Menu Tastings, and Planning Visits. Collaborate with the sales department and event sales team to ensure optimal use of function spaces to maximize revenue. Finalize the details of confirmed bookings while maximizing revenue through upselling and ensuring effective communication with all departments for event success. Ensure accuracy in Banquet Checks and conduct a bill review upon completion of events. Prepare a monthly booking report. Keep the Director of Sales informed of any issues or unusual matters to facilitate prompt corrective action. Oversee the execution of banquet events, reviewing all function spaces with the banquet manager and head house attendant as necessary. Ensure client satisfaction at the start of all events. Respond to any resort emergencies or safety situations as part of the crisis management plan. Adhere to Four Seasons standards for sales and marketing while maintaining a harmonious and professional relationship with colleagues and planning committees.

Qualifications

A college education is preferred.

3-5 years of prior experience in catering sales, with a minimum of 3 years focused on wedding sales and service.

Proficient reading, writing, and speaking skills in both English and Spanish.

Strong sales and interpersonal abilities.

High level of creativity and attention to detail.

Capability to manage multiple tasks and make decisions in a fast-paced, client-driven environment.

Willingness to work long and irregular hours, including weekends and evenings.
