Responsibilities
Foster a customer-centric culture to enhance client relationships and utilize broader Bank connections, systems, and knowledge. Maintain a business values-oriented mindset to guarantee that the Technology team delivers the appropriate products for stakeholders, ensuring that user stories are well-defined and the team comprehends the scope and expectations of the work. Support the Scrum Master in overseeing agile delivery and adoption (JIRA, Confluence, Kanban, ServiceNow). Ensure that backlogs are visible, transparent, and prioritized to drive significant outcomes, and manage requirements for demonstration sessions with stakeholder teams. Collaborate with stakeholders and support teams to establish necessary service procedures, policies, and standards in accordance with internal policies and documentation guidelines. Assist and support software development and the Support team in achieving their objectives by applying innovative and problem-solving approaches to enhance design effectiveness, procedures, and cost-efficient solutions while meeting business and regulatory requirements. Identify root causes of frequently occurring issues and support actionable plans to enhance the development team's performance through substantial changes to our products and services. Oversee business and software development metrics framework for software products, analyzing large datasets to compile reports and presentations for leadership teams. Utilize various software applications to assist the bank and designated teams in formulating appropriate workflows and templates. Comprehend how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be integrated into daily activities and decision-making processes. Actively pursue effective and efficient operations within respective areas in alignment with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to, and effectiveness of daily business controls to meet obligations regarding operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk. Promote a high-performance environment and contribute to an inclusive workplace.Scope
Supported business units: RBBO, Adjudications, GBS, OCS, Global Compliance, Global Complaints, and IB Operations. 1-2 Direct Reports Global (Canada & IB).Qualifications / Experience / Additional Information
Required: University or College degree in Business, Engineering, or Computer Science. Familiarity with the software life cycle. General knowledge of project management. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities. An agile mindset with the flexibility to adapt to new and evolving environments. Excellent written, verbal, virtual, and live communication skills (Spanish is considered an asset). 2+ years of experience as a Business Analyst and 1+ year in a similar role. Experience with Atlassian Confluence and Jira methodologies is highly desirable, along with knowledge of IT Business Management.Working Environment
