About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Business Specialist to join our ScotiaTech team in Bogotá or Home-Office. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to the overall success of our business by ensuring specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed and delivered in support of our business strategies and objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  • Deliver effective and efficient technical support to a portfolio of instances.
  • Partner with Architecture on understanding the design and integration.
  • Handle user requests and issues on a daily basis, provide support, and suggest workarounds to end users to carry out their business workflows.
  • Articulate user needs and have a good understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements.
  • Participate in walkthroughs/demos of applications during various stages of the project or application lifecycle.
  • Provide solutions and suggestions to the business from a holistic point of view and assist in defining detailed requirements.
  • Effectively research and analyze business requirements and translate them into quality systems requirement specifications (External Design Documents).
  • Actively participate in the systems implementation process and have a thorough understanding of the change management process.
  • Improve the end-user experience by finding scalable solutions and addressing complex ad-hoc queries.
  • Review JIRA ticketing intake system and update email notifications (for updates and new tickets) and ensure that new tickets get assigned to a resource and existing ones are actioned on.
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to, and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk.
  • Champion a high-performance environment and contribute to an inclusive work environment.

Requirements

  • Must have:
    • Has a clear understanding of current IT practices and systems development techniques (Waterfall, Agile, etc).
    • Good working knowledge of Microsoft suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
    • Experience in handling customer issues, providing solutions/workarounds.
    • Working knowledge of databases such as SQL Server and able to create and run queries on their own.
    • 2 years of experience with Salesforce.
    • Prior experience in Business System Analysis.
    • University or college degree in a related discipline (Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Technology) or equivalent work experience.
    • B2 Level of English.

Working Conditions

  • Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence.
