Strategic Investment Professional for Latin America

Kiva, a global nonprofit founded in 2005, aims to expand financial access and support underserved communities. With over two million lenders investing $1.9 billion, Kiva unlocks capital through crowdfunded loans, empowering individuals worldwide.
The Impact Investments team seeks a talented professional to join its Bogotá, Colombia-based office. As an Investment Manager, you will be responsible for sourcing, developing, and supporting impact investments in countries across Latin America. Your expertise will help ensure the effective use of Kiva's systems and compliance with policies.
Key responsibilities include:
- Relationship Management: Develop strong relationships with potential and existing investees.
- Investment Monitoring: Collaborate with team members to monitor assigned investments, ensuring risk assessment, financial performance, social performance, and compliance with Kiva policies.
- Business Development: Establish a network to source new impact investments, focusing on achieving impact at scale. Screen potential investments and review applications.
- Due Diligence: Conduct thorough assessments of potential investments, including financial and social performance analysis. Present recommendations to the Investment Committee.
- Deal Structuring: Participate in negotiations to secure favorable investment terms and conditions, maximizing impact while ensuring Kiva's efficiency and sustainability.
- Technical and Operational Support: Assist in onboarding new investees, serving as a liaison, communicating Kiva policies, and updating stakeholders on developments and issues.
- Country/Region Expertise: Provide guidance on local market conditions in key markets, informing Kiva's investment strategies.
- Strategic Partnerships: Manage relationships with other funders, exploring co-investment opportunities where possible.
- Documentation: Support drafting and reviewing transaction documentation with the legal department.
