About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and accomplished Research Team Leader to join our team at the Stockholm Environment Institute. As a key member of our senior management team, you will be responsible for leading our research efforts in sustainable water management in Latin America.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning and Leadership: Develop and implement strategic plans to drive research and policy engagement in sustainable water management, aligning with the SEI strategy and annual work plans.
  • Team Management: Lead and manage a team of researchers and experts, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project execution and team growth.
  • Fundraising and Resource Management: Coordinate fundraising efforts and manage resources to support research and policy engagement activities.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Foster collaboration between team members, stakeholders, and external partners to achieve research and policy goals.
  • Professional Development: Inspire and promote the professional development of team members, including performance reviews and development dialogues.
Requirements
  • PhD or Master's Degree: A PhD with a strong research background or a Master's degree with a strong track record of steering public policy towards sustainable outcomes.
  • Language Skills: Excellent writing and communication skills in English and Spanish.
  • Experience: Proven experience in research and policy engagement, team management, and fundraising.

  • Research and Policy Expertise: Experience in sustainable water management, research, and policy engagement in Latin America.
  • Team Management: Experience in leading and managing teams, including performance management and professional development.
