About the Role:

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an experienced and motivated technical leader to coach, grow, and partner with technically skilled Solutions Architects. As a Solutions Architect Manager, you will be responsible for developing the industry's best cloud-based solutions architects by enabling and coaching them on best practices, solution selling, presentation and speaking skills, as well as how to create and present architectures of widely varying size and complexity.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Team Development: Hire, on-board, train, and develop new Solution Architects from internal and external sources.
  2. Customer Engagement: Act as a conduit and liaison between customers, service engineering teams, and support.
  3. Training and Development: Build and coach the team on the skills needed to conduct one-to-few and one-to-many training sessions so they can transfer deep technical skills to customers who are considering or using AWS.
  4. Talent Development: Must be passionate about developing early-in-career talent.
  5. Technical Expertise: Relevant experience in design/implementation/consulting experience of distributed applications, infrastructure architecture, database architecture, and networking.
  6. Leadership Experience: Relevant experience management of technical, customer-facing resources.
  7. Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, math, or related field.
  8. Language Skills: Fluent in English (reading, writing, and speaking).

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience leading and growing teams of senior technology professionals.
  • Relevant experience in management of technical, enterprise customer-facing resources.
  • 2+ years' experience design/implementation/consulting experience of distributed applications.
  • High level of comfort communicating effectively across internal and external organizations, with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly.
  • Ability to speak in public and in front of an audience is a big plus.
  • Technical degree required (or equivalent work experience); Computer Science background highly desired.
