Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Production Control Specialist to join our team at Jabil Circuit. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for controlling production batches, ensuring the proper mix and quantity of products are produced to meet customer demand.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with Planning and Inventory Control teams to minimize excess inventory in the production line.
  • Lead order processing activities for major customer units, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Advise non-exempt associates on day-to-day priorities and customer requests.
  • Monitor and proactively address issues that impact performance, including committed ship dates, lead times, response times, and inventory goals.
  • Coordinate with Master Scheduler to manage product life cycles and related materials availability.
  • Drive process improvements within and outside the Order Management area.
  • Plan, schedule, coordinate, and approve product releases to production planning systems based on material and capacity availability.
  • Supervise production launches, eliminations, and engineering changes to ensure production plans meet customer deliverables and avoid material obsolescence or intermediate storage.
  • Support banking/buffering activities and volume changes.
  • Daily contact with supervisors and production leaders to monitor production plans and serve as a link between Master Planner, Inventory Control, and Manufacturing teams.
  • Provide input to management, reschedule, and/or interface with customer program management, master scheduling, customers, and production control to reschedule production in the event of design changes, labor and material shortages, backlogs, and other potential schedule interruptions.
  • May also support inventory control, supply chain management, material planning, and scheduling.
Management & Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Typically reports to Management. Direct supervisor job titles typically include: Materials Manager, Assistant Materials Manager, Planning Manager, Assistant Planning Manager, Planning Supervisor, Production Control Supervisor.
  • Job is NOT directly responsible for managing other employees (e.g., hiring/termination and/or pay decisions, performance management).
Job Qualifications
  • Thorough knowledge of ERP/MRP systems.
  • 34 years of materials-related experience.
  • Advanced PC skills, including knowledge of Jabil's software packages.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to operate a personal computer, including using a Windows-based operating system and related software.
  • Advanced PC skills, including training and knowledge of Jabil's software packages.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence. Read and understand visual aids.
