POSITION SUMMARY / JOB FOCUS

The primary objective of a Clinical Liaison Specialist (CLS) is to foster scientifically grounded and non-promotional relationships with healthcare professionals (HCPs) by providing relevant product and disease information based on their inquiries. CLSs engage in initiatives that align with the scientific strategy of a product, thereby interacting with key decision-makers both internally and externally. Acting as a bridge between Pfizer and key opinion leaders (KOLs), CLSs play a vital role in ensuring the effective dissemination of complex scientific data, research resources, and medical insights. The CLS meets the needs of both customers and the organization by connecting external and internal environments while focusing on diverse activities and stakeholders.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Cultivate collaborative relationships with opinion leaders and facilitate the unbiased exchange of scientific information between the medical community and the organization;
- Provide comprehensive scientific updates on the latest clinical trials in a balanced manner, showcasing the development, efficacy, and safety of Pfizer products;
- Promote scientific knowledge of key molecules or disease areas among targeted physicians and other HCPs within both on-label and off-label contexts, responding to KOL inquiries as needed;
- Establish and maintain professional connections with academic institutions to ensure access to current medical and scientific information;
- Deliver technical presentations to healthcare practitioners to enhance their understanding of product administration, therapy management, and other practical concepts;
- Maintain regular contact with KOLs and other HCPs through face-to-face interactions or virtual meetings when applicable;
- Participate in medical education programs and disseminate technical information regarding molecules and disease concepts, while identifying competitive intelligence;
- Respond to external requests for information by providing data on products to healthcare professionals, including physicians and formulary committees;
- Engage with healthcare professionals at local, regional, national, and international scientific meetings as necessary;
- Support and facilitate scientifically relevant projects involving both external and internal stakeholders.

COLLABORATION WITH MEDICAL MANAGEMENT

Work closely with the medical manager to:
- Develop and nurture strong relationships with KOLs in alignment with the medical strategies established with the medical manager and CLS manager, to gain insights into treatment patterns and unmet medical needs;
- Provide local experts (speakers) with updated information to ensure their presentations are current and they have the necessary medical and scientific data to address questions;
- Serve as a local medical scientific resource for planning and communicating product information;
- Collaborate in the organization of advisory boards, speaker training, or other meetings involving opinion leaders;
- Communicate with internal cross-functional teams to relay medical insights that may influence awareness of Pfizer products or disease areas, ensuring the correct use of Pfizer medications.

REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS

Technical

  • Medical Doctor (MD) Degree is required;
  • Fluency in English is mandatory;
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in the pharmaceutical industry or corporate health services is required;
  • Strong medical-scientific and pharmaceutical knowledge, with experience in hematology and epidemiology being advantageous;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools;
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills (both verbal and written);
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical and scientific information;
  • Previous experience as a CLS is a plus, but not mandatory.
