POSITION SUMMARY / JOB FOCUS

The primary objective of a Clinical Liaison Specialist (CLS) is to nurture scientifically grounded and non-promotional relationships with healthcare professionals (HCPs) by providing product or disease-specific information tailored to their needs. CLSs engage in initiatives that align with the scientific strategic vision of a product, facilitating interactions with key decision-makers both internally and externally. Acting as a bridge between Pfizer and key opinion leaders (KOLs), CLSs play a vital role in ensuring the successful transmission of intricate scientific data, research resources, and medical insights. The CLS meets the requirements of both customers and the organization by integrating external and internal environments and focusing on diverse activities and stakeholders.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Cultivate collaborative relationships with opinion leaders and facilitate the exchange of impartial scientific information between the medical community and the organization;
- Deliver scientific insights on the latest clinical studies in a balanced manner, highlighting the development, efficacy, and safety of Pfizer products;
- Advocate for scientific knowledge regarding key molecules or disease areas among targeted physicians and other HCPs within an appropriate context;
- Establish and sustain professional relationships with academic institutions to ensure access to up-to-date medical and scientific information;
- Conduct informative presentations to healthcare practitioners to enhance their understanding of product information, including administration characteristics and therapy management;
- Maintain ongoing communication with KOLs and other HCPs through face-to-face interactions or virtual meetings as necessary;
- Participate in medical education initiatives and disseminate technical information regarding molecules and disease concepts, while identifying competitive intelligence;
- Respond to external requests for information by providing data on products to healthcare professionals, including physicians and formulary committees;
- Engage with healthcare professionals at local, regional, national, and international scientific meetings when applicable;
- Support scientific projects involving both external and internal stakeholders.

COLLABORATION WITH MEDICAL MANAGEMENT

Work closely with the medical manager to:
- Develop and maintain robust relationships with KOLs, aligned with the medical strategies established with the medical manager and CLS manager to gain insights into treatment patterns and unmet medical needs;
- Provide local experts with information to ensure their presentations are current and equipped with necessary medical and scientific knowledge;
- Serve as a local medical scientific resource for planning and communicating product information;
- Collaborate in the organization of advisory boards, speaker training, or other meetings involving opinion leaders;
- Communicate with internal cross-functional teams to relay medical insights that may influence awareness of Pfizer products or disease areas.

REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS

Technical
- Medical Doctor (MD) degree is required;
- Proficiency in English is essential;
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in the pharmaceutical industry or corporate health services is required;
- Strong medical-scientific and pharmaceutical knowledge, with hematology and epidemiology experience as a differentiator;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools;
- Excellent customer service and communication skills (both verbal and written);
- Ability to effectively communicate technical/scientific information;
- Previous experience as a CLS is a plus, but not mandatory.
