About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Salesforce Business Solutions Specialist to join our team at Scotiabank. As a key member of our Global Wealth Engineering team, you will play a critical role in delivering comprehensive wealth and asset management solutions to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  • Assist the Product Owner/Delivery Manager by conducting research and analysis, and accurately and clearly defining user requirements and processes to assist in the resolution of highly complex, multi-faceted problems to meet the needs of the supported Line of Business.
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Serve as a liaison between the business community and the IT organization to provide technical solutions to meet user needs.
  • Gather requirements from business units and translate those to programmers and developers.
  • Demonstrate an informed knowledge of business functions to resolve problems and capitalize on improvement opportunities.
  • Help analyze current systems to identify opportunities to improve system reliability.
  • Work in a cross-functional Agile team to deliver core business and regulatory solutions.
  • Assist the Product Owner/Project Manager by conducting research and analysis, and accurately and clearly defining user requirements and processes to assist in the resolution of highly complex, multi-faceted problems to meet the needs of the supported Line of Business.
  • Participate in the systems implementation process by developing test cases, performing testing, defining user procedures and workflows, assisting in the development of conversion and implementation strategies, and providing user documentation, and user training.
  • Perform data management activities, including data mapping and data lineage, and document information flows to support specific business requirements.
  • Build the metadata model and business glossary by gathering information from multiple sources: business users, existing data sources, databases, and other relevant documents and systems.
  • Support the team on day-to-day activities, such as coordinating stakeholders, managing and updating project management artifacts.
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

  • Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to, and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk.

Dimensions

Some of the key accountabilities include:

  • Serve as a liaison between the business community and the IT organization to provide technical solutions to meet user needs.

  • May need to perform User Acceptance testing from time to time.
  • Work in a cross-functional Agile team to deliver core business and regulatory solutions.

Education / Experience / Other Information

  • Must have: Language fluency in English (B1+) and Spanish. Salesforce or CRM experience (Objects, record types & records). Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar degrees. Certification in Business Analyst is a strong plus. 3+ years of experience working with analysis and design of new features. Working knowledge of project management lifecycles and methodologies (including Agile). Advanced knowledge of financial instruments, including market conventions and valuation methods, risk management methodologies and models, including best practices, current and anticipated regulatory requirements, back-office processes, and transaction workflows. End-to-end between Front, Middle, and Back Offices, within at least one financial market area (e.g., foreign exchange, interest rate derivatives) and a very good knowledge of at least one other financial market area. Good understanding of current IT practices, and systems development techniques including requirements specification and testing methodologies, formal and real-time analytical modeling tools, and keeping up to date with rapidly changing technology.
  • Soft skills: Excellent written and spoken English to clearly communicate complex issues.
  • Nice to have: SOQL, Financial Services Cloud, Management Flow, and process diagramming, Data Analysis, Attention to detail, BABOK, Knowledge, UML Diagrams.
