Job Title: Bakery Clerk
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Bakery Clerk to join our team at Hy-Vee. As a Bakery Clerk, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a clean and organized bakery environment, and ensuring that all products are prepared and presented to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
- Maintain a clean and organized bakery environment, including sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning equipment, and restocking supplies.
- Prepare and present bakery products, including bread, pastries, and other sweet and savory items, to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
- Operate bakery equipment, including mixers, ovens, and wrapping machines, in a safe and efficient manner.
- Process customer transactions, including handling cash, credit card transactions, and operating a point-of-sale system.
- Work effectively as part of a team to achieve sales goals and provide excellent customer service.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a bakery or food service environment preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
Working Conditions:
The Bakery Clerk will work in a fast-paced bakery environment, with exposure to flour dust, noise, and cleaning chemicals. The ability to work in a team environment and provide excellent customer service is essential for success in this role.
