The Collections Team Lead oversees a team of Collections Specialists while driving strategic initiatives to optimize recovery performance and maintain team excellence. This role combines hands-on collections expertise with people management to achieve departmental goals and develop team members.

**What You'll Do**
- Lead and mentor a team of Collections Specialists, providing coaching, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities
- Monitor team performance metrics and develop strategies to improve collection rates and customer satisfaction
- Conduct quality assurance reviews of team calls and account handling to ensure compliance and service standards
- Assist with complex or escalated collection cases while teaching best practices to team members
- Collaborate with management to implement process improvements and new collection strategies
- Manage workforce scheduling and capacity planning to meet service level agreements
- Create and deliver performance reports to senior management
- Participate in hiring, training, and development of new team members

**What You'll Bring To The Team**
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field preferred
- 5+ years of collections experience, with at least 2 years in installment products
- 2+ years of supervisory or team lead experience
- Demonstrated track record of achieving collection goals and developing successful teams
- Strong understanding of US federal and state collection laws, including FDCPA
- Excellence in conflict resolution and problem-solving
- Advanced analytical and reporting skills
- Experience implementing new collections strategies or technologies
- Background in process improvement or project management
- Knowledge of credit reporting requirements and regulations
- Industry certifications (ACA International or similar)
- Proven ability to motivate and develop team members
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
- Change management experience
