This role sits within our Retail Energy Division and reports to the Head of Product & Engineering. English fluency is required.

**Areas of Responsibility**:

- Write efficient MySQL queries and optimize database performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and implement new features.
- Conduct thorough testing using PHPUnit to ensure the quality and reliability of code.
- Work with older versions of PHP and troubleshoot any compatibility issues.
- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders through verbal and written communication.
- Demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail to identify and resolve issues promptly.
- Understand Linux systems, permissions, and encryption methods to ensure secure deployments.
- Perform code reviews, participate in Git-based version control, and adhere to coding standards.
- Create and optimize APIs for seamless integration with external systems.

**About You**:

- Extensive experience in PHP and the Laravel framework.
- Strong knowledge of JavaScript, jQuery, and Vue for front-end development.
- Proficiency in writing efficient MySQL queries and optimizing database performance.
- Familiarity with testing methodologies, particularly PHPunit.
- Ability to work with older versions of PHP and address compatibility challenges.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective collaboration across departments.
- Experience in project planning, prioritization, and meeting deadlines.
- Self-motivated and capable of working with mínimal supervision.
- Understanding of Linux systems, permissions, and encryption methods.
- Exceptional troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with Git for version control and code reviews.
- Previous experience in creating and optimizing APIs.

**Working Hours & Location**:

- Our office is located in the El Poblado area of Medellín.
- The working hours for this role are to remain in sync with the company’s Austin HQ (Central Time) throughout the year.
