The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Senior PHP Developer to join our dynamic team and help evolve a SaaS platform. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to take ownership of key initiatives, drive payments and legacy modernization efforts, and mentor junior and mid-level developers while delivering high-impact features.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities):

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance features on a legacy PHP codebase (PHP 5.6/8, Yii 1/2).
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to understand business requirements and deliver on tight timelines.
  • Lead by example in writing clean, scalable, and well-documented code.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior and mid-level developers.
  • Take deep ownership of projects, understanding dependencies, identifying risks, and thinking three steps ahead.
  • Drive high-quality solutions with a focus on performance, maintainability, and scalability.
  • Debug and profile applications using tools like xDebug.
  • Contribute to front-end development using 2, Vuex, axios, jQuery, SCSS, and HTML.

Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of professional experience with PHP development.
  • Hands-on expertise with Yii 1 and Yii 2 frameworks.
  • Advanced knowledge of MySQL 8.
  • Proficiency with 2, Vuex, axios, and jQuery.
  • Familiarity with SCSS, HTML, and modern build tools like Vite or Webpack (optional).
  • Experience using Docker, Docker Compose, Git, and xDebug for development and debugging.
  • A forward-thinking problem solver who takes initiative and sees the big picture.
  • Highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities and deliver results on time.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with legacy and modern tech stacks.
  • An effective communicator and natural mentor with a desire to elevate team capabilities.
